Bournemouth is located about 30 miles southwest of Southampton. To drive, take the M27 southwest from Southampton. Continue on M27 approximately 30 miles and take exit for A31 signed for Bournemouth. Follow A31 for 5 miles then take A338 towards Bournemouth town centre. The drive takes roughly 1 hour 20 minutes depending on traffic. Parking available at various central Bournemouth car parks.
By Train:
Direct train services run frequently from Southampton Central station to Bournemouth operated by South Western Railway. Journey time is roughly 1 hour 10 minutes for the 60 mile trip. Check South Western Railway’s website for exact train times.
By Bus:
National Express and FlixBus coaches provide direct bus services between Southampton Coach Station and Bournemouth Bus Station. Total journey time is approximately 2 hours. Changes may be required in Poole or Ringwood. Check operator websites for current Bournemouth bus timetables.

From Ringwood, Hampshire

Access By Car:
Bournemouth is located about 16 miles south of Ringwood by car. Take the A31 eastbound out of Ringwood towards Bournemouth. Follow the A31 for around 12 miles until reaching the A341. Take the A341 south for the remaining 4 miles to enter central Bournemouth. Expect the drive to take 25-30 minutes depending on traffic.
By Bus:
The X3 bus service runs regular routes between Ringwood and Bournemouth, taking around 35-45 minutes end-to-end. Key stops include Bournemouth Square, University and Bus Station. Some services may require a change at Parley Cross. Check current timetables on the More Bus website before travelling.
By Train:
Ringwood railway station has hourly services to Bournemouth operated by South Western Railway. The journey takes roughly 20 minutes, going straight through to Bournemouth with no need to change. Use the South Western Railway website or app to find upcoming train times.

From Eastleigh, Hampshire

Access By Car:
Bournemouth is located about 40 miles southwest of Eastleigh by car. Take the M3 southwest towards Southampton to junction 14. Then take the M27 southwest continuing around 30 miles to the A338 exit signed for Bournemouth. Follow the A338 5 miles into central Bournemouth. Expect the drive to take 50-70 minutes depending on traffic.
By Bus:
There are direct train services from Eastleigh to Bournemouth operated by South Western Railway. Typical journey time is around 1 hour 20 minutes changing at Southampton Central or Brockenhurst. Some services go straight through to Bournemouth without changing. Check train times on the South Western Railway website.
By Train:
National Express coaches provide bus routes from Eastleigh Coach Station to Bournemouth, taking 2-3 hours total. The journey requires a minimum of one change, most commonly at Poole, Ringwood or Southampton, before continuing to Bournemouth. Refer to the National Express website for updated schedules.
