First Steps

Our client chose our ‘Working by your side’ retained service and was no longer alone. He now had a Human Resources partner that would enable him along his journey to business growth and freedom to take a holiday.

To understand where the business was, so we could work on where the business needed to go, we interviewed their people. We also wanted to establish what was working well and not so well.

We established the engagement, motivation and skill levels of the existing team and worked on creating a plan with the business owner to achieve his goal of growing the business and taking that holiday.

Following our recommendations we quickly introduced contracts, policies and procedures to give clarity to the team and set expectations. The business had already expanded rapidly and this had an impact on their employees in terms of workload and focus. We introduced a performance management process to ensure that the team were aligned and their skills developed, to keep up with modern technology and demands of the business.

Through training and personal development, the people in the business felt empowered and the business owner gained trust and confidence in the team, enabling him to start working on the business and take that much needed holiday without interruption.

Ongoing Support

Once the team were established and confident, we became less ‘hands-on’ and we now provide our ‘There when you need us” retained service, giving the whole management team ‘peace of mind’ as they know they have access to unlimited emails and calls for expert HR advice when needed.

Results

The team has subsequently grown and introduced a people structure for the business to go from strength to strength.

Our ongoing service and support for the leadership team enables more time for the business owner to focus on international business travel and pursuing their passions.
